Dermatology

Our Dermatology Service looks at the diagnosis and treatment of skin disorders.

The Dermatology clinic is led by Dr Vikram Rajkomar, Consultant Dermatologist. He works alongside Dr Leonard Dumitru. We see all dermatology cases that can be managed in an outpatient setting. The clinicians are assisted by a female chaperone.

Clinics are usually held every first and third Thursday of the month between 9.00am and 5.00pm at Manor House Hadfield.

Referrals are accepted from all primary and secondary health care professionals in Tameside and Glossop.

Referrals are accepted for :

• All skin conditions

Referrals will NOT be accepted for :

• Suspected skin cancers

These patients should be referred to hospital under the 2WW.

Referring health care professionals should complete a referral letter and e-mail to: - northwestdiagnostics@nhs.net

Patients are informed of their appointment by post or telephone call.

The Dermatology Service offers a short wait for diagnosis and treatment. Clinic reports are available to the referring health care professional within 5 working days. If a biopsy is taken and sent for histology, then the referring health care professionals are listed as copy recipients of the histology report. The report usually takes between 2-3 weeks.
